"TSW Suzuki-based Training"

TSW taught its trademark approach to the Suzuki method of actor training for a three week intensive at Spoke the Hub in the Gowanus Arts building. The workshop used Shakespeare's "Twlefth Night, or What You Will" as a source text. Drop-in classes for November and December 2008 will continue to use texts from this workshop. "Yoga for the Performer"
May 13th ~ 16th, 11am ~ 2pm.

TSW hosted California-based yoga instructor Patrick Tully in a new workshop "Yoga for the Performer" at Spoke the Hub: a four-day intensive yoga practice from May 13th~16th, 11am~2pm. The workshop worked to expand the connection between yoga and the performer focusing the work on breath, singing, and movement in stillness through basic and advanced forms.

"Over the four days we will examine ways in which to establish a home practice. Study of asana, vinyasa, and pranayama will deepen the practitioners subtle awareness. Connection to the emotional body through the exploration of breath and sound work, will create a platform for personal discovery and spiritual growth." -Patrick Tully

About the teacher:
Patrick Tully began his journey before he consciously knew he was on one. His first teacher was his father, who showed him how various physical postures can help cure physical ailments and included the use of meditation to clear the mind relieving his migraines. Soon afterwards his first Pranayama training came in the form of trumpet lessons. His piano teacher of 12 years was also a yogi, interweaving yogic philosophy within a musical framework. His first lesson into an asana practice happened in 1994 by a chance incident with a traveling neighbor from Texas whose life was transformed by Yoga. Since then, synchronicity has led him from the world of music, theatre, and television, to his existence as a yoga teacher and spiritual guide and facilitator in California. As a yoga teacher he blends the yoga traditions of Hatha, Kundalini, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Anusara, with the martial arts disciplines of Tae Kwon Do and Ninjitsu.
